Sitting

Harper is now sitting! Saturday night, the eve of turning 6 months, I decided to try sitting Harper up. To my amazement, she sat!!!! Without practicing, she was sitting!! I was totally shocked and very thrilled at her meeting this developmental milestone! Since Saturday, we've been practicing and she's doing longer and longer stints sitting up. What a big girl!!!

Long, lean baby machine!

Harper is taking after her grandpa Steve! :) At her 6 month appointment, she weighed in at 15 pounds, 5 ounces (25-50th %), 27 inches long (90%) and 16.5 inches around her head (25-50%). We have a long, lean gal. :) She's the happiest little girl. She loves smiling at people and being out and about, although she is beginning to have some stranger anxiety.

One of Harper's favorite things to do is go to our ECFE class! We have class Mondays from 1-2 p.m. There are about 10 babies in the class and Harper LOVES looking around at the other babies, listening to the songs and playing with her toys. She also loves going to our Bugs class at the Little Gym! She does forward and backward rolls (with my help of course), plays with bells, balls, and does flips. When I put her in position to do a flip with me, she smiles and laughs, knowing what we're going to do!

Harper also LOVES watching movies of herself! We've been making movies of Harper since she's been teeny, tiny--and she laughs when she watches the movies. It is the cutest thing-although I am not sure she recognizes herself, I do think she notices me and Brian. She also probably recognizes our voices.

Harper was a Kitty for Halloween!! :) We were invited to a halloween play date and she enjoyed watching the "big" kids wander around in their costumes!! :) She also passed out candy and tried to keep the snickers for herself!

Harper has had a wonderful fifth month! She's much more interactive, engaging in all who are around her! She loves to "talk," roll and play on her tummy! She loves snuggling with her blankie, reading books, and just going out on "outings!!!" She is a great napper now-she goes down without a fuss, and is beginning to take longer and longer naps. She still sleeps great at night!

Harper started eating "big girl" food this month also! We started with cereal and breast milk, and she's enjoyed apples and now sweet potatoes. I am making her food, which I really enjoy. It's great knowing where it comes from and the taste is much more realistic than jarred food!
